Kingston Technology announced on Monday that they have released a series of high performance "plug and play" memory to better complement and work with the Intel Core i5 and i7 CPU/Sandy Bridge chipset technology and frequencies. The PnP HyperX memory is JEDEC-compliant, varying between 1600MHz and 1866MHz. Available modules come in 4GB and 8GB capacities.
These DDR3 SODIMM modules are designed to have faster frequencies based on the Intel second generation-specific technology, which has been a sort of problem for memory modules to configure to in the past. Kingston states that "no overclocking steps are required" to reach the high performance speeds. Kingston also states that users shouldn't have to configure or set the BIOS, and that the performance upgrade should be automatic due to the HyperX PnP model.
Each piece is backwards compatible with other already released DDR3 systems and they all come with a Kingston lifetime warranty. The modules are available now through Kingston and select partners, including Newegg, for pricings between $67 to $163. Price is dependent on capacity and MHz power. Check out the details below.
