Lenovo Announces First Business All-in-one: ThinkCentre A70z

Lenovo has been pumping out the desktops, lately, and no small number of them have been all-in-ones.  Given the forced stratification of the stagnant desktop market, that's no surprise.  Fortunately, the new A70z isn't just another nettop; it's packed with Core 2 Duo processors, 4GB of RAM and a bevy of wall mount options.

The new ThinkCentre A70z is Lenovo's first attempt to sell an all-in-one desktop under the Think* line of business computers.  It offers users a 19-inch display with graphics cards capable of supporting DirectX 10, wireless keyboard and mouse, Celeron Dual-core and Core 2 Duo processors, up to 4GB of RAM and 500GB of hard drive space.  Lenovo said the new machine is 2.5 inches thick -- pretty sleek for an all-in-one -- and comes with a number of mounting options.  The starting price will be $499.

Unfortunately, however, the new machines are a little homely, especially when compared to the stunning designs that the Chinese OEM has been pushing in their consumer line of desktops.  I know that the Think* line is known for being staid and serious, but Lenovo should really think hard about putting some of their strong designs back here, too, instead of just playing it safe.  Some companies do like style, after all.

Like the rest of the ThinkCentre desktops, the new A70z also features a built-in handle for easy movement around the office.  Lenovo's desktops handles are, no joke, one of our favorite features of any of their computers.  The new systems reportedly boot to a full Windows 7 desktop in just 35 seconds, and come with Lenovo's well-known and loved power and management software.
