"An unprecedented new TV shape" - what on earh could that mean? Nobody outside of Samsung and a few of its partners know, and they're not telling. At least, not until next week at CES, when we can all get a glimpse of the new TV for ourselves.

Thanks to a picture on one of the company's blogs, as well as the company's special CES 2013 information portal, the device looks almost like a portrait-oriented display. And with the background continuing into the frame of the TV, it looks like it might be a transparent one, too. Samsung absolutely has transparent display technology waiting in the wings; we saw some early examples of the technology at CES last year.
Samsung posted a teaser video, too - which sheds light on a couple of more details, but manages to leave us with at least as many questions as we started with:
At the end of the video, we see a shot of what is presumably the new TV, hidden beneath a translucent cloth. In this view, it looks much more like a normal television set. Will Samsung switch it to its side at the last minute? Could we see a new curved Samsung monitor? A clear one? The possibilities abound! No doubt you're as excited as we are to find out, so stay tuned for CES 2013, coverage of which starts this Sunday.
