Logitech took the wraps off a couple of new Mac-oriented peripherals, with the release of the new Logitech Bluetooth Easy-Switch Keyboard for Mac, iPad and iPhone, and the new Logitech Rechargeable Trackpad for Mac.
Styled with tradigional Apple aesthetics in mind, the new devices marry black, white, and silver for an attractive look that manages to go with any recent Apple product, all while retaining a look that is uniquely Logitech.
The new backlit keyboard features a white LED backlighting system and several days' of battery life, thanks to some intelligent power management features (you can top up with a USB cable when you run low). The Easy-Switch in the name is a clue to what sets this new Bluetooth keyboard apart; with a press of a button you can swap the keyboard between three different devices, such as your iMac or Mac Mini, your iPad, and/or your iPhone.
Logitech also released a new mouse replacement - the Logitech Rechargeable Trackpad for Mac. While Apple may have started the market for these glass-covered, multitouch peripherals, Logitech has taken the opportunity to improve upon the idea. Unlike Apple's version, which requires popping out a couple of batteries every so often, Logitech stuck a rechargeable lithium-ion battery inside. Running low on power? Just plug in your USB cable and keep using the device while you charge.
The touch area of Logitech's trackpad is also slightly bigger than the Mac model, so if you've ever had your gesture style feel cramped, this might be the answer to your problems.
Both devices are available today; the Logitech Bluetooth Easy-Switch Keyboard for Mac, iPad and iPhone carries an MSRP of $99.99, while the Logitech Rechargeable Trackpad for Mac will cost a bit less, at $69.99.
