In an attempt to get the dozen or so people that still haven't bought an Xbox 360 yet want one, Microsoft has a deal this holiday season that may be right up your alley.
Starting today, gamers who pick up one of three different Xbox bundles can save $50 off their purchase, which, for some kits, is a savings of close to 20%. Not shabby. You'll be able to pick up the bundles at stores across the nation - and their Internet shopping equivalents - including Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, GameStop, and Toys 'R Us.
Every bundle comes with a free month of Xbox LIVE Gold, a free month of access to Hulu Plus, and a free month of EPIX. What else you get depends on which bundle you pick up:
4GB Xbox 360 with Kinect - $299 -> $249
This box includes the Xbox 360 with 4GB of flash memory, a Kinect motion controller, Kinect Disneyland Adventures, and Kinect Adventures.
250GB Xbox 360 - $299 -> $249
The first 250GB bundle comes with Skyrim and Forza 4 Essentials Edition.
250GB Xbox 360 with Kinect - $399 -> $349
This second 250GB hard drive-equipped Xbox 360 also packs in a Kinect motion controller, Dance Central 2, Kinect Sports, and Kinect Adventures.
Microsoft hopes that the savings will help push the Xbox 360 through the holiday season until next year, when the successor to the Xbox is thought to be released. It'll be facing steep competition from Sony, who has prepared PlayStation 3 bundles of its own, and Nintendo, with both the Wii U (available at two different price points), and the original Wii, which is now cheaper than ever.
